Suburgatory

Single father George only wants the best for his 16-year-old daughter, Tessa. So when he finds a box of condoms on her nightstand, he moves them out of their apartment in New York City to a house in the suburbs. But all Tessa sees is the horror of over-manicured lawns and plastic Franken-moms. Being in the 'burbs can be hell, but it also may just bring Tessa and George closer than they've ever been.

Suburgatory (Fuera de Lugar) es una serie sobre un padre que vive con su hija de 16 años en Manhattan y que, tras descubrir que ha escondido una caja de preservativos en su habitación, decide que ha llegado el momento de abandonar la gran manzana e irse a vivir a las afueras para poder ofrecerle una vida y educación mejor. Sin embargo, la adaptación de Tessa Altman a su nuevo entorno no será ni mucho menos fácil para ella. El título en inglés es un juego de palabras entre suburban (haciendo referencia al barrio residencial al que se trasladan los protagonistas) y purgatory (una clara alusión al martirio que para ellos, especialmente la hija, supone empezar de nuevo y relacionarse con unos vecinos que les son totalmente ajenos). Narrada en primera persona por la propia Tessa, Suburgatory (Fuera de Lugar) cuenta con la participación de Jeremy Sisto (A dos metros bajo tierra, Ley y orden) y de Jane Levy (Shameless) en sus papeles principales como un padre divorciado y una hija inteligente y muy madura para su edad que deben adaptarse a su nueva vida y nuevos vecinos. De hecho, Tessa se tendrá que acostumbrar a vivir entre madres de clase acomodada (totalmente operadas) dedicadas a las labores del hogar y a las reuniones sociales así como con las hijas de éstas; chicas jóvenes que sólo tienen en la cabeza ser todavía más horteras que sus progenitoras, mantenerse extremadamente delgadas y ser un pelín plásticas y coloridas a la hora de vestir. Zoals elke vader wil George enkel het beste voor zijn dochter en wanneer hij op het nachtkastje van Tessa een doos met condooms vind verhuist hij samen met zijn dochter van het drukke enlevendige centrum van New York naar een rustige buitenwijk om zo zijn dochter te beschermen tegen het leven van een grote stad maar de rustige buitenwijk heeft ook zo zijn nadelen. Na história, George (Jeremy Sisto, de “Law & Order”), um homem abandonado pela esposa, é pai de Tessa (Jane Levy, de “Shameless”), uma jovem de 16 anos. Cuidando sozinho da filha, esse homem super protetor se apavora quando descobre uma caixa de preservativos escondida na mesa de cabeceira de Tessa. Assim, ele toma a única decisão cabível para solucionar esse problema inesperado: muda-se com a filha para os subúrbios. Para desespero de Tessa, que de repente se vê afastada dos amigos e da vida que levava em Nova Iorque, o subúrbio é sinônimo de purgatório. До сих пор Джордж неплохо справлялся с воспитанием дочери, но теперь внезапно чувствует, что самому ему не справиться. Так что прощай, Нью-Йорк, здравствуй, пригород. Поначалу Тесса в ужасе от мамочек с пластикой и их сидящих на Ред Булле чадах. Но понемногу и Тесса, и ее отец приспосабливаются к жизни на идеально чистых улицах пригорода. Конечно, соседи будут пугать вас своей любвеобильностью, а их детки будут метать в вас полные ненависти взгляды. Но под этими слоями силикона и кофеина соседи оказываются вовсе не такими уж и плохими. И жаркое у них отличное.
