MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout is a reality competition series that follows twelve up-and-coming bands, selected from a field of thousands of applicants, who try to rock their way to the finish through a series of performances that viewers can vote on to determine which bands get to stay on the show, and which bands are going home early. Prior to each season, MTV invites unknown bands everywhere to apply for their shot at the big time. After MTV's experienced panel of music industry experts narrows the field down to the perfect dozen, these bands get the chance to prove their skills on national television. Over the course of the season, audiences will vote on which bands have what it takes and which bands weren't meant to be, leading to the final live finale where the number one group will take home the prize. This competition is the chance of a lifetime for these musicians, as the winner will receive more airtime on other MTV shows, a track on the latest Rock Band game, and plenty more perks that will launch them out of obscurity and into the national spotlight
