"The New Adventures of Old Christine" is a comedy about a 35-year-old divorced mom who runs a 30-minute female-only gym with Ali, and tries to keep pace with everyone around her. That includes the judgmental stay-at-home moms at her son's private school and her ex-husband, Richard. His new girlfriend, whose name is also Christine. Old Christine's brother, Matthew lives with her.

Overview:	"Ich muss einen Kopftsand machen damit meine Brüste gut aussehen" stellt Christine Campbell fest und trägts mit Fassung. Nicht mit Fassung trägt die Unternehmerin und alleinerziehende Mutter die Tatsache, dass ihr Ex-Mann eine Neue hat. Denn die ist nicht nur hübscher, sondern auch um einiges jünger als sie und heißt zu allem Unglück ebenfalls Christine. Leider ist die „neue“ Christine so nett, dass die „Alte“ sie nur schwer hassen kann. Langsam aber sicher gerät die Gefühlswelt der „alten“ Christine aus dem Gleichgewicht. Und als wäre das nicht genug, wird sie auch noch von den eleganten Vollzeit-Müttern an der Privatschule ihres Kindes gemobbt. Als sie schließlich den Sprung ins Single-Leben wagt, gerät sie auf der Suche nach Liebe oft in ausgesprochen peinliche Situationen. La sit-com racconta le vicende di Christine Campbell, interpretata dall'attrice Julia Louis-Dreyfus (l'Elaine di "Seinfeld") nei panni di una madre divorziata e proprietaria di una palestra femminile. Christine cerca sempre di rimanere in buoni rapporti con tutti, con l'ex-marito Richard o con Marly e Lindsay, due delle madri dei compagni di scuola di suo figlio Ritchie. Sorgono dei problemi però quando l'ex-marito Richard comincia ad uscire con una giovane donna che porta lo stesso nome della sua ex-moglie (la "nuova" Christine), facendo così diventare la nostra Christine la "vecchia" Christine. Della vecchia Christine viene raccontata proprio questa nuova vita (come appunto recita il titolo originale). Tra gli altri personaggi della sit-com, Matthew, fratello della protagonista che vive in casa con lei e il piccolo Ritchie, e Barb, migliore amica della donna. Ela tenta controlar sozinha a sua vida, e estar em paz com tudo a sua volta. Uma figura muito presente em sua vida é o ex-marido Richard, cuja nova namorada também se chama Christine, daí o apelido "Old Christine" ("Velha Christine"). Christine mora com o filho Richie e o irmão Matthew (Hamish Linklater), enquanto Wanda Sykes interpreta sua melhor amiga Barb. Christine também tem que enfrentar seu complexo de inferioridade toda vez que se encontra com as esnobes Marly e Lindsay na escola particular de seu filho. Menopaussi.
