Divina de la muerte es una serie centrada en el personaje de Deb Dobson una modelo que mientras se dirige a un casting, tiene un accidente y muere.Pero tendrá la oportunidad de reencanarse en otra persona, aunque muy distinta ya que volverá a la tierra como una abogada llamada Jane Bigum y que sufre sobrepeso. Deb Dobkins, un mannequin pas très futée, meurt dans un accident de voiture. Arrivée aux portes du paradis, elle supplie le gardien Fred de lui donner une nouvelle chance de revenir sur Terre. Fred refuse alors elle appuie elle-même sur le bouton "Retour". Elle est effectivement ramenée sur Terre mais dans le corps d'une autre personne, tout juste décédée. Sa nouvelle apparence est celle de Jane Bingum, une brillante avocate, très intelligente, mais en surpoids... Deb Dobkins è una giovane e bella ragazza, anche se un po' superficiale. È un'aspirante modella, e sogna di convolare a nozze con il suo fidanzato Grayson, un brillante avvocato. Sfortunatamente, rimane coinvolta in un incidente stradale e muore. Arrivata alle porte del Paradiso, viene bloccata da Fred, un solerte angelo guardiano del posto, che non può farla entrare poiché durante la sua vita Deb non ha mai compiuto alcuna buona azione. Infastidita dalla cosa, Deb chiede allora di poter ritornare sulla Terra, ma a causa di un disguido non ritorna nel suo corpo, e si reincarna invece in quello di un'altra ragazza deceduta di recente: Jane Bingum, una intelligente e generosa avvocatessa, anche se goffa e decisamente sovrappeso. O seriado, produzido por Josh Berman (CSI, Bones), conta a história de uma modelo sem graça que morre num acidente e renasce no corpo de uma brilhante advogada (Brooke Elliott), que sofre de obesidade. .... A série é uma mescla de drama e comédia, traz Minnelli como uma médium que levará a personagem de Delta, sua própria irmã, a julgamento depois que ela abre um consultório, também ligado à paranormalidade, na mesma rua em que trabalha.
