Barta nyomozó Keller professzor meggyilkolása ügyében nyomoz. Az orvosprofesszort a saját villájában lőtték agyon, már egy éve. Barta a rokonokkal most a sírkőavatásra megy, de ezzel sem jut előbbre. A Keller-villában tetten éri Pukner professzort, Keller közvetlen munkatársát, amint Keller iratai között kutat. Barta próbálja leszűkíteni a gyanúsítottak körét, amikor Keller házvezetőnőjét meggyilkolják.
