Max Linder is out of sorts and bad-tempered. He is rude to his wife, who tells him she will leave him, and Max replies that he doesn't care if she does. Mrs. Max flounces out of the room, and Max turns to his newspaper. The first thing his eye lights upon is an advertisement relating to some wonderful pills, which promote universal love and good fellowship. Max goes off to buy a box, and the result leads to his embracing all the pretty girls. Unfortunately he leaves the box on the table, and his wife helps herself, with the consequence that she feels impelled to kiss all the men she meets. Max feels it his duty to punch the heads of all the recipients of her favors, and finds himself with three duels on hand. But luckily Mrs. Max succeeds in making each of her hubby's opponents partake of the pills just before the duel, with the result that seconds and adversaries fall into each other's arms, and all is peace.
