Seit 2013 findet im Rahmen des alljährlichen „Köln Comedy Festivals“ die „1Live Köln Comedy-Nacht XXL“ in der Lanxess Arena statt. Seit 2016 wird das Event bei ONE und im WDR Fernsehen übertragen. Die „1Live Köln Comedy-Nacht XXL“ gilt als größte Comedy-Mix-Show Europas. Neben der Verleihung des „Deutschen Comedypreises“ stellt sie das Highlight des Köln Comedy Festivals dar, bei dem jährlich unzählige Comedians und Kabarettisten auf Kölner Kleinkunstbühnen und in den großen Hallen auftreten.
