该剧讲述的是我国解放军东南军区高层决定选拔组建一支代号为“火凤凰”的女子特战队；为了组建这支女子特种部队，军区决定在所有有女兵工作的部队或部门内开展选拔。最后从不同部队的不同职位选拔出八名女兵，并使她们一步步蜕变为专业特种兵的故事。
