该剧主要讲述了职场失意的电工老林，为保障妻女的生活一筹莫展，求升职未果后却意外收到一笔神秘巨款，与其他四位职业、年龄各不相同的陌生男女被胁迫完成各自的指定任务，不料众人竟阴差阳错的卷入了一桩明星绑架案。五人被迫携手出逃，途中意外获悉了彼此的真实身份，原来发生的一切并非巧合。一场属于社畜的离奇冒险正式开启。
