episode 199

STUFF • This webcast is sponsored by Hitachi • Lucky us our dear friend and host of G4's X-Play, Morgan Webb, stopped by our studios early this week, and generously agreed to co-host this episode of DL.TV. • If you're interested in starting a video podcast or just curious about how is produced Morgan shares her insights on the production process she uses to create her Webb Alert video podcast. • In this week's installment of "3 Games in 3 Minutes"; Scott and Games For Window's Darren Gladstone take focus on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, World in Conflict and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. • Robert Heron gives us an in-depth look at Orb 2.0. It's the amazing free tool that allows you serve media on your home PC to anyone with a web browser. • Loyd case enlightens us on the finer points of installing a motherboard, CPU and RAM in his latest Build a PC segment. • DL.TV viewer James had a question about retrieving text files from some old 5.25" floppies. With the 5.25" floppy pretty much all but dead, locating new 5.25" drives will be an exercise in futility. Luckily Ebay can provide a ready source of used 5.25" PC drives. Once received all you need to do is attach the drive to the floppy header on your motherboard using a standard floppy cable. Most Windows OS from XP on down should see and access the drive like it would a 3.5" drive. If you don't have the inclination to locate, salvage and install a 5.25" drive consider using a floppy drive service. • And we want to congratulate team DL.TV's hard earned entry into 20th place on the Folding@Home team rankings! Our journey toward the top 10 will be a long and difficult one, and we encourage everyone to spread the word, donate some idle computing power, and join team #57391.
