À l’automne 1994, Simon, 15 ans, se rend au dépanneur et n’en revient jamais. Le lendemain, on repêche le corps de l’adolescent dans la rivière. 27 ans plus tard, sa jeune sœur Élise tente de comprendre pourquoi il s’est jeté en bas du pont. Aidée par Philippe, un charismatique animateur de pastorale qui dirigeait le groupe d’entraide de Simon, elle découvre que tout est toujours plus complexe qu’il n’y paraît.
