Popeye and Bluto the Champ are at a camp training for a boxing match. Later, despite Olive Oyl’s pledge to never see him again if he fights, Popeye enters the ring for the bout. Meanwhile, Olive is nervously listening to the fight on the radio at home.
Popeye fordert „Bluto, den Champion“ zu einem Boxkampf heraus. Als Olivia das hört, fleht sie ihn an, nicht gegen Bluto zu kämpfen, doch der Seemann will nicht auf sie hören. Voller Sorge sitzt Olivia vor dem Radio, da dort der Boxkampf übertragen wird. Da kommt ihr eine Idee: Popeye braucht eine Dose Spinat. Danach hat er auch kein Problem mehr, es mit Bluto aufzunehmen!
