《钦天异闻录》构建了一个“异族”世界观，在这个奇幻的世界观架构下，怪兽、异闻、秘境、奇物、天外来客这些超越人类理解的事物与人类共存，大黎钦天监是负责守护人类不被外来异种侵害的神秘组织。女主童盼秋作为钦天监最强女按察使，在一次办案中救下男主苏建翊，然而苏建翊身上却迷雾丛生：他仿佛被人从时间轴上抹去了四年，这之中发生了什么，无人得知。剧集以苏建翊“丢失的四年”为主线悬念，以童盼秋为首的热血小分队在不同案件中寻找线索，不断揭开异客、奇物、迷案背后的真相，守护大黎百姓安定。与此同时，童盼秋与苏建翊的感情也在查找真相的过程中逐渐升温.
