Meet the trio, Adheer; an ace thief, Roshni; a history geek and Dev; a ganglord in Gurgaon. A renowned scientist, Kartik Devraj, a.k.a KD captures the three and warns how they'd only be let free after the mission's completion. With KD's invention of a time machine, the trio is transported to 19th century Bengal. Saving a widowed queen from committing saati, retrieving her priceless necklace and returning to the future, the trio realize that this is just the beginning of their secret mission.
On their first mission the team travels back to Srirangapatnam in 1799 to steal a jade tiger gifted by Napolean to Tipu Sultan, the tiger of Mysore. they arrive at a time when the city is under siege by the British General Wellesley and there is chaos. They cross paths with Tipu's treacherous Prime Minister Mir Sadiq who is hand in glove with the British, while they try to steal the tiger from the royal treasury. Adheer's backstory is revealed a little bit – his father was a colonel in the army who betrayed the country when Adheer was a young boy. The experience left him scarred & cynical for life. During the robbery, Dev gets attracted to Roshni. The gang eventually finishes the robbery. Before leaving they witness Sadiq's treachery in getting Tipu killed, they consequently make sure that his men find out about his betrayal and he is killed as well. Adheer betrays the gang and tricks them as well by escaping back into 2013 alone with the treasure, leaving them in 1799.
Back in the present, Adheer finds that KD had anticipated treachery and had left instruction to his trusted man servant to shoot the traitors. Adheer hastily returns to the past and gets the team back. KD punishes Adheer and has him hung down and almost killed by deadly rats, till Adheer apologizes. Dev&Roshni are enraged at Adheer& asks KD to throw him off the team. KD tells them that the team can't succeed without Adheer's skills, he realizes that he has to find a way to discipline Adheeer. Their second mission is to travel back to 1847 to steal a very valuable set of postage stamps 'The post office Mauritius ' from Maurtius of which only 1000 were originally printed but less than 30 are still in circulation. The stamps have to be stolen from a ball being thrown by William Maynard Gomms, the racist governor of Mauritius. The three of them enter the premises disguised as enslaved plantation workers and get into trouble with the British. Dev's backstory is also revealed – he was a boxer who only dreamt of making his country proud by winning an Olympic gold medal, but a corrupt politician tried to make him his slave and exploit him. Dev killed the politician when he discovered he was a pedophile and turned into a gangster. The team gets into the ball in disguise and steal the envelopes from the guests when they turn up with their invites, while battling the British troops. They are chased by British soldiers during the mission, Adheer is captured but is saved in the nick of time by Dev. Adheer feels indebted to Dev and they become friends. Roshni however still remains frosty towards him. We later reveal that KD manipulated the situation to ensure Adheer got caught and then made sure Dev saves him – so as to ensure that Adheer feels a sense of belonging to the team& doesn't betray them again.
The mission to replace the original copy of the Akbarnama with a fake takes the trio on a whirlwind adventure of rescue, humiliation, anger and deceit.
In this episode of Time Machine, the team reaches the days of British Raj to steal the crown of King George from Delhi Durbar. While Dev is suspicious about KD, the team enters the 'tent city'. Unfortunately, the city is attacked by revolutionaries, the same night. Amidst the chaos, the team encounters a cook who recognises them.
The secrecy of the mission is revealed. The trio feel cornered after an escape, a capture and a successful theft. They decide to leave KD behind in the year 1911 before he breaks down.
KD travels back to reveal the real mission. The thirst for success, rubbing shoulders with the tarnished and greed lost KD much more than he deserved. He reveals the story to the trio hoping for help.
Relationships have evolved, and the team finds themselves in 350 BC Bengal stealing the Garuda shaped royal scepter of Samudragupta, but are captured by soldiers while on their 6th mission.
Locked in 1519, the team travels to steal Vijaynagar Karnataka Tuluva dynasty's 3rd King Krishna Deva Raya's royal symbol. They enter the palace as horse traders and are caught off guard on several occasions. Each of them take on different avatars to escape the daunting situations. Caught in situation, the time travelers use their intelligence and wit to escape back to the future. The last episode ended with Adheer and KD tied to a chair, their secret of time travel revealed. Rolling back to year 1655, the team visits Agra. The agenda of the mission is to rob the sparkling diamond which Mir Jumla is about to gift to the great Shah Jahaan in Aurangzeb's presence. In a twist of events, Shah Jahaan believes Roshni to be his dead wife's ghost while the number 9 has a special role to play and Aurangzeb holds a dagger on Dev and Adheer's neck.
