Elli Kempfer kehrt in ihren Heimatort Steinau im Karwendelgebirge zurück, um dort als Rettungssanitäterin Unfallpatienten das Leben zu retten. Ihre Mutter Luise hat sie allein großgezogen. Leo , der beste Freund von Luise, ist für Elli wie ein Ersatzvater. Sie wohnt auf dem Hof ihrer Mutter und lebt mit ADHS. Deshalb hat Elli eine besondere Art, die Welt wahrzunehmen und zu erleben.
