A duel to the death begins between the murderous Phantom of the Louvre and his enemies throughout the City of Lights.
Paris, été 1965. Un fantôme vêtu d'une longue robe noire, Belphégor, hante la nuit le département d'égyptologie du Musée du Louvre. Disparitions, agressions, tentatives d'assassinat et morts suspectes se succèdent. La police s'avère impuissante. Un jeune étudiant, André Bellegarde, veut percer ce mystère.
