SBT

Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (abbreviated as SBT) is a Brazilian television network, founded on August 19, 1981 by businessman and presenter Silvio Santos and owned by the Grupo Silvio Santos. The broadcaster emerged after a public competition carried out by the Federal Government of Brazil for the creation of two new television networks, SBT being created from three revoked concessions from the extinct Rede Tupi, which are located in the cities of São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Belém Before this acquisition, Silvio Santos had already owned TVS since 1976, a broadcaster in Rio de Janeiro that joined SBT and became its subsidiary in the state of Rio de Janeiro. SBT is the second largest television network in the South American country, with 114 affiliated and own stations spread across the country. It also has the third largest television complex in Latin America, the Centro de Televisão da Anhanguera.
