Nachdem er Talia aus der Umklammerung ihres Vaters befreit hat, fesselt Batman Ra's al Ghul mit Batseilen, um ihn notfalls so lange festzustellen, bis die verrücktmachenden Nebenwirkungen der Lazarus Grube verflogen sind.
After freeing Talia from her father's clutches and escaping from an avalanche, Batman and Robin follow the only clue they have - the word 'Orpheus'. After discovering that 'Orpheus' is Ra's private satellite that will orbit over the Sahara, the duo travel to the Demon's desert stronghold. There, Batman learns that the satellite is actually a weapon which will explosively destroy all the Lazarus Pits simultaneously, throughout the world, destroying all the life that exists.
Dopo aver liberato Talia dalle grinfie di suo padre, Batman e Robin seguono l'unico indizio che hanno: la parola "Orpheus". Dopo aver scoperto che "Orpheus" è il satellite privato di Ra's Al Ghul che orbiterà sopra il Sahara, i due si recano alla roccaforte del demone nel deserto. Alla roccaforte Batman scopre che il satellite è in realtà un'arma che distruggerà tutti i pozzi di Lazzaro contemporaneamente, in tutto il mondo, distruggendo tutta la vita esistente.
Ra's al Ghul revela que já viveu centenas de anos, que planeja destruir a Terra para criar um novo mundo e tenta convocar Batman para se juntar a ele. Mas, o morcego não aceita e como ele já sabia de muitas coisas relacionadas sobre a Liga das Sombras, Ra's al Ghul decide matá-lo, explodindo a caverna onde estavam. Batman e Robin escapam e tentam a todo custo impedir o planos do vilão.
Ra's se sincera con Batman contándole que él es el único a quien considera como posible heredero de su imperio e ideales. Ante la negativa de Batman de asumir el puesto, Ra's lo encerrará e intentará llevar a cabo sus planes en solitario, aunque sin contar con que su hija Talia se ha enamorado de Batman y le ayudará a detener los planes de Ra's.
