Cenk, Ana, and Jimmy hosting. Various prisons have done away with person to person, face to face visitation and substituted it with video conferencing or calling people. Over 600 prisons in 46 states have gotten rid of person to person visitation. There are three companies dominating the prison communications business by extorting inmates’ families as an industrial complex: Securus, Telmate and Global Tel Link — the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint of jails. Statistics show inmates who are visited by family and loved ones in person are less likely to act out while in prison. A jury in Texas has sentenced a 20 year old man to 25 years in prison after admitting to choking his prom date during sex. He and his mother rented the hotel room, bought two bottles of whiskey and at least 20 pills of prescription painkillers. He alleged that he and his date drank a bottle and a half of whiskey and a majority of the pills before having consensual sex. He was not charged with murder, but was convicted of assaulting someone in a dating relationship. North Carolina Republicans vowed to defy the federal government in its allegations that the state is breaking federal civil rights laws. North Carolina’s leading Republican lawmaker, House Speaker Tim Moore, said that North Carolina would not be 'bullied' into meeting the U.S. Justice Department’s Monday deadline to change the law. The Cuban community is furious with Khloe Kardashian for taking a picture under a Fidel Castro sign. Representatives from Florida are responding to the picture saying she should have had some awareness about Castro before taking it.
