In the distant past of Japan, a lazy and selfish Taro loves to eat and sleep and wrestle with the animals. With no direction in his life, a Tengu appears that gives him a special potion. With this potion, he gains the strength of a hundred men - but he can only use it when he is helping others. After drinking the potion, Taro, day by day, begins to understand what it means to help others, first by fighting Akaoni (Red Oni) to save Aya, a young girl gifted with the flute, then by helping others in his village collect fire wood.
تورو الفتى الكسلان والأناني يحب ألأكل والنوم العراك مع الحيوانات. يعيش بدون هدف في حياته , لكن يتفاجأ ذات مرة بيظهور ساحر ليعطيه جرعة خاصّة. بهذه الجرعة، يكسب قوّة مائة رجل - لكنّه يمكنه أن يستعمل هذه القوة فقط عندما يساعد الآخرين.
Taro est un jeune garçon qui ne manque pas de vigueur, mais est terriblement paresseux. Pour l'encourager, un magicien lui donne une potion qui lui confère la force de cent hommes, mais uniquement lorsqu'il l'utilise pour faire le bien. Un jour, la grand-mère de Taro lui révèle que sa mère a été transformée en dragon. Taro décide alors de surmonter sa paresse et de partir à la recherche de sa mère.
