景博（林峯飾）被喻為最年輕的天才物理學家，受聘回港當大學副教授，並在身為重案組高級督察的好友盧天恆（馬國明飾）誠邀下，以超凡的科學角度分析，成功協助警方破解多宗奇案，更認識了探員徐小麗（楊怡飾）。景博出身名門，理性、講邏輯；小麗出身草根，感性、講直覺，兩個不同世界的人，燃起愛火，必然承受考驗…… 另一方面，風流不羇的天恆，和舊同學凌敏嘉（廖碧兒飾）維持一段純情慾關係，後來敏嘉發現愛上天恆，明白二人沒有結果，便毅然離港。一日，天恆再遇敏嘉，得知敏嘉將與男友結婚，天恆才赫然發現不想失去她……
