税務署の新人徴収官の成長を描いたドラマ。公務員になったのは安定した職業に就きたかったから…という理由の鈴宮深樹。新米徴収官として働き始めるが、エリートである特別徴収官（トッカン）で、上司の鏡雅愛は、周囲から“死神”と言われる冷血無比な男。そんな鏡の補佐として、日々、悪質な税金滞納者の取り立てに奔走する。
