In der dritten Captain Tsubasa-Serie geht es um die Qualifikation für die Fußball-WM 2002 in Japan. Dabei trittt erstmals Tsubasa als Hauptfigur in den Hintergrund. Im Mittelpunkt steht nun ein junger japanischer Spund, der versucht, in der italienischen Serie A berühmt zu werden und in der Jugendnationalmannschaft spielen zu können. Die Serie endet natürlich nach der Qualifikation, um einer weiteren Staffel den Weg zu bahnen.
The third Captain Tsubasa series is about qualifying for the 2002 World Cup in Japan. Tsubasa as the main character takes a back seat for the first time. The focus is now on a young Japanese bloke who is trying to find fame in Italy's Serie A and be able to play in the youth national team. The series ends, of course, after qualifying to pave the way for another season.
