“There are some lies that must never be revealed.” This heartwarming comedy focuses on a petty thief who is given a warm welcome after being mistaken for someone else. Petty thief Yujiro and his younger partner Yasu sneak into a sushi shop in the Tokyo Shitamachi area. Yujiro’s policy is to never steal unnecessarily, so he doesn’t even glance at the money in the shop, but searches all over for his goal, wind chimes. However, owing to bad luck, the brothers are discovered by area residents and set upon. Everything goes black, but when Yujiro next opens his eyes, it’s to see preparations for a feast underway. The residents give him a warm welcome with shouts of “Teru, welcome home!” As it transpires, they mistakenly believe him to be “Teru,” a person who ran off several years before. Yujiro and Yasu play along with the locals’ misperception, but how long can it last? Viewers will laugh and cry at this warmhearted tale set in the Tokyo Shitamachi area. One day in the story unfolds with each episode.
