Eine Kindergartenleiterin Sabine wird plötzlich in die verfilzte Lokalpolitik ihrer Gemeinde in Emsland hineingezogen und muss sich dort behaupten. Sabine wird von ihren Gegnern hochgehoben und befindet sich plötzlich im Zentrum der lokalen Politik. Ihre Erfahrungen als Kindergärtnerin helfen ihr mehr auf der politischen Bühne, als man denken sollte.

Sabine Ebert, élue nouvelle maire de la petite ville fictive d'Ellerbeck dans l'Emsland, tente avec ses amis et son mari Klaus d'empêcher la construction d'un projet d'engraissement de porcs.

A kindergarten director Sabine is suddenly drawn into the matted local politics of her community in Emsland and has to assert herself there. Sabine is lifted up by her opponents and suddenly finds herself in the center of local politics. Her experiences as a kindergarten teacher help her more on the political stage than one should think.
