在本剧故事中，刘琦真（马雅舒饰）因遭人谄害欠下了巨款，赵安华（刘恺威饰）为了筹钱，入赘薛家；琦真也嫁给了潦倒的富振嘉（谢祖武饰）；以后琦真的爱子喜儿（吴磊饰）意外受伤急需大笔金钱医治，情急之下振嘉拿出所有家当想靠赌博挣钱治儿子的病却输得精光；安华得知想帮助她，但琦真发誓要靠自己把儿子养大成人。
