آدم شاب فقير من بيئة شعبية، يُتهم والده بتقاضي رشوة، فيصبح آدم عائل الأسرة المكونة من والدته، وأشقائه فتضطره الظروف للعمل كعامل توصيل للطلبات. تربطه علاقة حب بجارته هنا التي يرفض والدها زواجه منها. وفي إحدى المرات يرى رجلًا أمريكيًا يحاول التهجم على الفتاة نانسي فيقتله للدفاع عن نفسه وعن الفتاة.
