胡、範、苗、田家自李自成兵敗起便結下世仇，胡家後人胡一刀在守護寶藏的過程中救下一名女子名叫冰雪兒，兩人相愛結成夫妻，生下兒子取名胡斐。田家後人田歸農在苗、胡二人決鬥時下毒，使得胡一刀中毒身亡，妻子殉情而去，留下胡斐給傭人平阿四照顧。長大成人的胡斐得到了《胡家刀法》真傳，闖堂江湖的途中胡斐對神秘的袁紫衣暗生情愫，又遇到了毒手藥王的弟子程靈素以及苗人鳳之女苗若蘭，江湖中人為尋找寶藏開始了血雨腥風的爭奪……
