该剧以经侦处长萧剑侦查离奇车祸案开始，通过对“海翔集团”违法操控股市的调查深入，引发对神秘商业大鳄胥枫过去的创业史探究。而关键性证人的丧失、社会舆论的施压、死亡的主谋、胥枫身份的揭开，一桩桩一件件都将矛头直指二十年前的金融大案，在其后牵扯出更大的跨国洗钱集团。萧剑无意间得到了胥枫隐藏的日记，发现了胥枫苦苦隐瞒的另一重身份。强敌当前，施压在后，不懈追查的萧剑以责任感与使命感冲破重重困局，最终将庞大的金融犯罪组织一网打尽。
