Yong Zheng, the fifth emperor of Manchu dynasty, and the third Qing ruler who ruled China, is generally portrayed as a devil who killed many intellectuals. His achievement is therefore willfully ignored by historian and this TV-series had honestly faced the history, giving him the credits that he deserves, which was denied for so long. Yong Zheng was for the first time, was neither eulogized as a saint nor demonized as a devil, but was treated as a person like he should be.
