Documentary series following the work of English Heritage. As the guardians of the nation's history, English Heritage are charged with preserving and maintaining over 350,000 historic and listed buildings, ruins, and castles. When Simon Thurley took over as chief executive, he was hailed the person who could take the organisation into the 21st century. What was intended and what actually happened were two very different things.
