Yawara! (also stylized as YAWARA!) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoki Urasawa. It was serialized in Big Comic Spirits from 1986 to 1993, with its chapters collected into 29 tankōbon volumes by publisher Shōgakukan. The story centers around Yawara Inokuma, a seemingly ordinary high school girl, but her grandfather, a living judo legend, has been secretly training her since she was a child so that she can win the gold medal at the Olympic Games. But Yawara has only one desire, to have a normal life. A live-action film adaptation directed by Kazuo Yoshida and starring Yui Asaka was released by Toho in April 1989. That same year, Kitty Films and Madhouse began an anime adaptation titled Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl!. It was broadcast on Yomiuri TV from October 1989 through September 1992, for 124 episodes. Each episode ended with a countdown of days remaining to the start of the Barcelona Olympics. Two animated films were released in August 1992 and July 1996. AnimEigo released the first 40 episodes of the anime in North America in 2008, but were unable to license the remaining episodes. In 1990, the manga won the 35th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category.

The "SpongeBob SquarePants" franchise, created by Stephen Hillenburg, started with the animated TV series that premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999. It follows SpongeBob, an enthusiastic and optimistic sea sponge, living in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. With his best friend Patrick Star, a dim-witted yet lovable starfish, and his grumpy neighbor Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob’s adventures are both hilarious and heartwarming. The franchise has expanded to include multiple feature films, such as "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" (2004) and "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" (2015), as well as spin-off series like "Kamp Koral" and "The Patrick Star Show." It's also inspired a Broadway musical and countless merchandise, cementing its place as a beloved staple of pop culture.

1 20 toni kaku

Space Battleship Yamato (Japanese: 宇宙戦艦ヤマト, Hepburn: Uchū Senkan Yamato, also called Cosmoship Yamato and Star Blazers) is a Japanese science fiction anime series produced and written by Yoshinobu Nishizaki, directed by manga artist Leiji Matsumoto, and produced by Academy Productions. The series aired in Yomiuri TV from October 6, 1974 to March 30, 1975, totaling up to 26 episodes. It revolves around the character Susumu Kodai (Derek Wildstar in the English version) and an international crew from Earth, tasked during an interstellar war to go into space aboard the space warship Yamato, derived from the World War II battleship of the same name, in response to a message of aid from the planet Iscandar in order to retrieve a device which is able to reverse the radiation infecting Earth after being bombed by the Gamilas (Gamilons). Space Battleship Yamato is one of the most influential anime series in Japan. Its turn toward serious themes and complex storylines influenced future works in the medium, including Gundam, Evangelion, and Macross, in addition to video games such as Space Invaders.
