It introduced José Carioca, who accompanies Donald Duck on his travels through Brazil and other parts of South America. Fast forward to "The Legend of the Three Caballeros," a 2018 TV series that revived these characters in a modern, magical adventure. In this show, Donald, José, and Panchito discover an ancient magical atlas that leads them on quests to stop an evil sorcerer and his minions. All routines in both are primarily aimed at providing family-friendly entertainment suitable for young children. In addition, the franchise also include merchandising, ranging from annuals to toys. One such product that was sold was a toy musical instrument – referred to as a "xylophone", but in reality a toy glockenspiel – based upon the same instrument use by Sooty up until the 1980s
