It is based on Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka and serves as its prequel.
Space Pirate Captain Harlock (Japanese: 宇宙海賊キャプテンハーロック, Hepburn: Uchū Kaizoku Kyaputen Hārokku, also romanized as Space Pirate Captain Herlock) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Leiji Matsumoto. It was serialized in Akita Shoten's Play Comic from January 1977 to June 1979, with the chapters collected into five tankōbon volumes. The series follows the titular Captain, an outcast turned space pirate after he rebelled against Earth's Government and humanity's general apathy. Space Pirate Captain Harlock was adapted into an anime television series in 1978 directed by Rintaro and produced by Toei Animation. A computer-animated film adaptation of the same name was released in 2013.

The Hebrews Project is a creative lab for biographical documentary films about prominent writers in the field of Hebrew and Jewish literature. The project, launched by Yair Qedar, in 2009, invites directors to create films that combine a biographical story, translation of textual work into cinematic visuals, original music, animation. commentary by literary scholars and the author’s friends and colleagues, and the filmmaker’s own personal interpretation. The films utilize poetry and prose, interviews, historical materials and literary interpretations, documentary footage and cinematic representation, producing works that reflects the wealth of Jewish writing.
Nintama Rantarō (忍たま乱太郎, "Rantarō the Ninja Boy") is a Japanese anime series produced by Ajia-do Animation Works and Japanese broadcast on NHK since April 10, 1993. It is an adaptation of the manga series Rakudai Ninja Rantarō, written and illustrated by Sōbe Amako. Nintama Rantarō centers on the title character and his friends as they attend a school for budding ninjas. Like the manga on which it is based, there is a considerable amount of anachronisms for comedic purposes; for example, the titular character Rantarō is bespectacled.
