Barbie's rock band completes a successful world tour and decides to perform one last concert in space to promote world peace. Then in part two ("Barbie and the Sensations"), when Barbie and her band—whose name has inexplicably been changed to the Sensations—come back to Earth, they travel inadvertently back to 1959.
