Aliases
A young female vocalist, constrained by Iran’s strict ban on women singing in public, embarks on a courageous act of resistance: she performs live music in the streets, defiantly using her voice as a tool of protest. Her spontaneous performances resonate deeply with urban youth, drawing both admiration and scrutiny.
As her presence gains momentum, she—and her close-knit circle of friends and collaborators—face mounting pressure from authorities. Their underground concerts, which began as acts of personal defiance, evolve into a broader cultural movement. The film explores themes of gender, freedom, and artistic dissent, portraying the emotional toll and societal tensions that accompany their cause.
Through intimate storytelling, Bidad follows this heroine’s journey—from the exhilaration of public performance to the emotional cost of standing up for one’s right to be heard.
