He is a widower and has four children, Christy (Mohanlal), Joji (Dileep), Jessy (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and Stella (Kanika (actress)). Varghese Mappila also has a property dispute with Kunnel Kumaran Thampy who kills Kochuthomma (Jagathy Sreekumar), brother of Vargheese Mappila.
