When Diana and Charles divorced the royal family lost one of their major stars, and if they thought Diana would shrink away from the limelight they were very much mistaken. Drawing from unique sources this programme builds a picture of the shy teenager growing into the beautiful and confident princess the world grew to love. Even though she was assailed by personal doubts and uncertainties, she still achieved great good for her family and the charities she worked so hard to support. Rivalry and jealousy marred her relationship with the royal family but Diana went on to create her own style of monarchy as the Queen of People's Hearts.
