Oppressed by his overbearing and autocratic mother, who owns a successful haute-couture brand, Aggelos can't even dare to admit openly in front of her that he's head over heels in love with his talented actress sweetheart, Despina. To make matters worse, the meek and irresolute son thinks it's high time he got married; but, of course, this is out of the question. As a result, the couple concocts a daring plan, and Despina decides to take matters into her own hands by landing a job as a live-in housemaid at Aggelos' house.
