The underwater world of the Canadian river hides the history of the Innu, the indigenous people of this area. Shots of the river, from the darkness of which the polyphonic narration of witnesses emerges, provide a background for scraps of memories, traces of oral history preserved to this day. The titular forests are a memory of the world of tribes living in peace next to each other that no longer exists. As a result of the colonization of these areas by Europeans, divisions, fear and wars appeared. Civilization also violated the order of nature, and giant pines were under water.
