A newspaper runs pictures of scientist Egbert Slipp and an escaped lunatic named Oscar B. Zerk, but mixes the name captions under each picture. Egbert is on his way to marry the fair (a descriptive understatement) Josephine, whose father has never seen Egbert... but he, along with everybody in the cast except Egbert, has seen today's paper. Egbert, winds up being pursued by a policeman and catches a ride with a passing motorist who, naturally, is Oscar B. Zerk.
