De retour à Paris après six ans d'absence, Claire retrouve, dans une salle des ventes, des objets ayant appartenu à Agathe, une comédienne décédée dont elle a partagé la vie. Elle achète ce qu'elle peut, notamment un album photo chargé de souvenirs partagés avec Agathe. Au milieu des visiteurs de l'Hôtel des ventes, Claire retrouve Mathieu, un ami perdu de vue depuis longtemps. Elle lui confie son désarroi, Mathieu lui révèle qu'il l'a jadis aimé en secret.
