Comédienne habitant Paris, Alix joue dans une pièce d'Ibsen, à Calais. Afin de passer une audition, elle doit retourner dans la capitale pour une journée. Dans le train vers Paris, elle remarque un homme à la mine un peu triste qui la regarde aussi. À leur arrivée, il lui demande le chemin de l'église Sainte-Clotilde. La matinée d'Alix file vite. Son compagnon n'est pas à la maison et ne répond pas au téléphone, son audition la déçoit.
