David y Diego son los únicos monjes católicos bizantinos de Sudamérica. Sus días transcurren en un monasterio que fundaron hace poco tiempo en un paraje seco y aislado de la provincia de Buenos Aires, y que aún están construyendo. David pinta iconos, y Diego traduce textos cristianos del griego y del ruso al castellano. Ambos pertenecen al rito bizantino, emparentado a la tradición del primer cristianismo.
