Tino, peintre et décorateur, s'illustre d'un coup après avoir remplacé au dernier moment un chanteur absent. Quand il tombe amoureux de Lise, une jolie dactylo, il ne sait pas qu'elle deviendra une star de la chanson comme lui. Mais, comme elle porte un masque lors de ses performances, Tino n'est pas au courant de son changement de statut. Pendant un certain temps, les deux amants passent leur temps à se leurrer mais les choses finissent par revenir à la normale et ils peuvent avoir un vrai mariage.
