Jairo é um chefe de uma repartição pública de Brasília, onde quase todos foram premiados em um bolão de final de ano da Loteria Federal. No dia seguinte a premiação, às vésperas do Natal, a repartição está vazia, triste e com os poucos funcionários que não tiveram, por diferentes motivos, a oportunidade de investir no bilhete premiado e Jairo é um deles.
The lonely Jairo is one of the few bureaucrats left on his department after most of his colleagues won a jackpot with a lottery pool. Old man Gadelha kept working as well, but his merry disposition contrasts sharply with his remaining fellows' somber mood. Triggered by this inconsistency, Jairo follows him and finds out that Gadelha doubles as Santa Claus at a nearby shopping mall. Startled, but also intrigued by Gadelha's secret life as the jolly old Santa, Jairo asks to join him in his Christmas engagements throughout the city. During their journey, Jairo revisits his memories of holidays past and has unexpected encounters that show him the true meaning of Christmas.
