抗日战争时期的张家镇，青年小林找在日军维持会工作的老同学张处长办几张通行证，张处长满口答应，没想到小林一回家，张处长就带着日本鬼子来抓走了他。张处长在吃饭被胡大嫂把小救走了。他们准备去重庆，在通过敌人的哨所时被敌人发现，小林被打伤后又被胡大嫂救了，到医院治伤时被张处长派人来抓小林，胡大嫂把鬼子打死。小林的同学范丽来到张处长家，假借订婚在酒中下病毒将日军毒死，胡大嫂趁机将张处长打死。
