경호는 3개월 전에 길에서 쓰러져 있던 수진을 발견하고 병실로 옮겨준다. 하지만 선원인 경호는 수진이 깨어나기 전에 배를 탄다. 수진은 자신에게 선행을 베푼 경호를 찾아 가지만 경호가 탄 배의 귀선은 한달 후로 미뤄졌다는 전보를 받고 돌아온다. 돌아오는 길에 수진은 의과대학 학생인 장원을 만나고 장원은 그녀를 사랑하게 된다. 그러나 경호가 돌아오고 세 사람은 삼각관계에 빠진다. 수진은 울면서 두 젊은이와 헤어질 것을 결심한다.
