Pepo

1870 год. Тифлис, армянский квартал. К скромной, работящей, красивой Кекел, сестре рыбака Пэпо, посватался торговец Дарчо. И для него было немаловажно, что как приданое, за девушкой дают 1000 рублей, которые были отданы несколько лет назад богатому купцу Зимзимову на хранение ее отцом, сейчас уже покойным. И надо же такому случится, расписка была потеряна, а Зимзимов узнав это - клялся, что ничего не знает про эти деньги...

A poor but honest fisherman Pepo opposes a cunning trader Zimzimov, who tries to rob him by trickery refusing to pay a lost bill. Pepo choses prison to paying-off his honour.
