毎日魚を見つめ、その絵を描き、食べ続けても飽きないほど魚が大好きな小学生の“ミー坊”。わが子が少々変わっていることを父親が心配する一方で、母親は彼を温かく見守り応援している。高校生になっても相変わらず魚に夢中なミー坊は、町の不良とも仲が良く、いつの間にか周囲の人々の中心にいるのだった。やがて、一人暮らしを始めたミー坊(のん)はさまざまな出会いを経験し、自分だけが進むことのできるただ一つの道を突き進んでいく。
